The United States on Wednesday forcefully condemned a car bomb attack that killed an Iranian nuclear expert in Tehran — while just as firmly repudiating any suggestion that U.S. operatives might have taken part in the assassination.I’m sure the Israelis had nothing to do with this and that the United States had no foreknowledge of the event. We are, after all, peace loving democracies who fight against terrorism. Any suggestion to the contrary is irresponsible and ought to be dismissed outright by all serious, sensible people.“I want to categorically deny any United States involvement in any kind of act of violence inside Iran,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told journalists at the State Department Wednesday ahead of a meeting with her Qatari counterpart.
“The United States strongly condemns this act of violence and categorically denies any involvement in the killing,” State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said in a press statement.
On a different note, the US has resumed drone strikes in Pakistan after a 46 day hiatus, and the first one bagged four confirmed kills! That’s a respectable start to the new year. With a little grit and determination, we can beat last year’s body count of 543.
Imagine how many we could nail if Obama was not, as Mitt Romney says, an appeaser who goes around apologizing for America. Oh well, that’s life in the big city, I suppose.
