Go Flip Burgers

Just in case you needed more evidence that the 1% are swine, here it is:
Chicagoist reports that someone at the Chicago Board of Trade blanketed Occupy Chicago protesters with hundreds of McDonald’s applications, mocking the demonstrators camped outside. Employees at the organization — the world’s oldest futures exchange — have heckled Occupy Chicago protesters almost since day one. They’ve proudly hung “We Are The 1%” in their office windows, papered the movement with fliers, and sent out email spam. Now, they seem to have moved on to “job counseling.” Though it may not be very good advice, as McDonald’s recently hired just 60,000 workers out of 1 million applications they received.
Historically, this kind of behavior is followed by the sound of heads falling into baskets, but I wouldn’t expect the small-minded plutocrats who run this country to be aware of that. As I’ve said before, our rulers are just money-grubbing Babbitts with no cultural sense or historical awareness at all. Lessons from history don’t affect them because they don’t know any. The only exceptional thing about them is how staggeringly unexceptional they are. Historians will mark this fact when trying to account for the speed and thoroughness of our decline.

This kind of thing is bound to bring a few fence-sitters into the OWS camp, particularly those who have applied at McDonald’s only to be told they were overqualified. I hope they continue to act like this. It will demonstrate to the world that they are, in fact, exactly what their critics accuse them of being: greedy, obnoxious pricks who really don’t give a damn about anyone else.

When confronted by massive protests against them, protests that are supported by a majority of the American people, their response is an insousiant “Go flip burgers.” This is just plain dumb. It’s bad politics and bad public relations. You might assume that these sharpies of finance might have some rudimentary instinct for self preservation. You’d be wrong. They don’t. They are the empty husks of a consumerist society that has thoughtlesslty put them in power. They are stuffed dummies waiting to be kicked. They can easily be overthrown.

You just hate the fact the "Job Creators" made so many jobs for their copy boys running of thousands of these fliers!
