The Twit and The Twitter

As we all know, there’s a major snowstorm happening right now on the East Coast. That means loads of smugness and gloating from Matt Drudge. Every time it snows or dips below freezing, it’s conclusive proof in Drudgeworld that global warming is a fraud. Sen. Jim DeMint, not exactly Mensa material, got in on the act and posted a dumb comment on Twitter:

It’s going to keep snowing in DC until Al Gore cries “uncle.”

Yuck yuck. That’s pretty clever, huh? It’s almost as clever as another one of his jems: “Seventy percent of American’s health problems are of their own making.” There’s only one problem:

Hottest January in UAH satellite record

Human-caused global warming easily overwhelms much-hyped "cold snap"

For some reason I couldn’t copy and paste anything from the body of the article, but you can read it in its entirety here.

Have you ever noticed that conservatives casually dismiss long-term trends in climate change, but treat long term trends in the stock market as the ineluctable will of god?
